What is League Age?

Your player’s league age is determined by the Little League Baseball® and Little League Softball®
Age Charts. The dates for baseball and softball are different, but each determines the division in which your Little Leaguer will play this season. The Age Determination Date for a Little League Baseball player is the actual age of a child on August 31 of the current year. The Age Determination Date for a Little League Softball player is the actual age of a child on December 31 of the previous year.

The website will automatically present you with the programs available to you based on your league age not your actual age.

Player Placement

MYBBSB is a skill-based little league.  We do not place players in divisions strictly based on their age.  Players are evaluated during our Winter Skills clinic or mandatory February evaluations.  We place players in the best division based on their skill level so they have the best chance at success.  Players can be moved up or down a division if they were not properly evaluated before the season.

What is League Age?

League Age is the child's chronological age on:

Baseball - August 31st of the current year in which their season takes place.
i.e. For the 2023 season, if the child is 12 on August 31st, 2023, then they are League Age 12.

Softball - January 1st of the current year.
i.e. For the 2023 season, if the child is 12 on January 1, 2023, then they are League Age 12.

The League Age calculator and League Age Charts can be found here.

Volunteer Requirement

Middletown Little League is a non-profit organization run by all volunteers.   In order for us to keep our program one of the cheapest youth baseball programs in the area and provide services like our popular concession stand, we need eveyone's help.   There are a number of ways for parents/ guardians to get involved.

  • One family member for every registered player (except Challenger division) must volunteer some time to help run our program.  Opportunities include helping coach a team, working at the concession stand, helping with league events such as Allstars or equipment hand outs, or getting involved with our Little League Board!
  • You will be charged a $50 fee at registration that will be refunded after your service is complete.
  • If you receive financial aid you must volunteer. (No opt out)
  • Refund can be issued via Venmo, a website credit for a future season or check (please contact [email protected]).
  • Any questions can be sent to [email protected]
